Alastair Campbell visits Queen's
This week a group of Queen's sixth formers interviewed Alastair Campbell at the College as part of their involvement with Envision. Hope (ISL/A) explains more:
When you reach I Seniors at Queen's you get to take part in a programme called Envision. My friends and I decided to create a campaign aimed at tackling the negative stigma attached to mental health. We called this organisation ‘Thought’ and seven of us have been working together with our main aim being to producing a documentary. This got off to a flying start when our group was able to secure an interview with Alastair Campbell, formerly spin doctor for Tony Blair and someone who has suffered from depression. Alastair came to Queen's on Thurs 25 February. We created a mini film set and went about our questions, which he answered flawlessly. It was a great day for us all to meet a man whom most of us had read a lot about in newspapers and thanks to Alastair we are now trying to line up other well known people to interview and we are in conversation with the BBC. So watch this space!
