An Inspector Calls
Drama GCSE students from Queen's went to see Stephen Daldry's production of JB Priestley's 'An Inspector Calls'. They were joined by Maud (ISL/A) who wrote the following report on the trip:
On Wednesday afternoon I joined with high spirits the I Junior GCSE Drama group as we took our excellent stall seats at Wyndham's Theatre. As the curtain rose, an impressive Edwardian house was revealed, small and with distorted proportions. We were close enough to be captured by each actor's excellent performance, as the mysterious inspector unravelled their past. We experienced their thrilling, emotional journey without an intermission. After the show we were invited to meet the stage manager who allowed us onto the stage and into the house; it was exhilarating teetering on the cobbled floor in the exact area where the talented actors had just performed. Many thanks to Dr Ramsey for organising the backstage tour and to Mrs Hope and Mr Skilbeck for escorting us all.
