Daring to be different
GCSE and A-level Italian pupils at Queen's visited the Estorick Collection of Modern Italian Art on Mon 14 September. The purpose of the visit was to see the exhibition 'Workshop Missoni: daring to be different' and to find out more about this unique Italian fashion house. The girls were given a guided tour of the exhibition in Italian, and learnt a great deal about the working life of the Missoni family. One of the students wrote, 'We looked at the technical processes involved in the production of Missoni fabrics and clothing, and their inspirations which included the fine arts from Europe's modernist era and the work of artists such as Tancredi. This was an enjoyable day out, and gave us a real insight into how the Missoni brand and style have evolved over the years.'
