Haiti appeal update

Since our red and blue day, Queen's girls have been busy selling cakes and jewellery to raise further funds for Haiti. IIJC led a most informative and moving Prayers to increase awareness of the Haitian cause, and it has been good to see the girls and staff support so generously the various sales going on around the College over the past two weeks. We are delighted now to be able to send off a cheque for a further £1442.48 to the Haitian appeal fund via the Disasters Emergency Committee, which is on top of the £983.16 raised on our red and blue day. This makes a grand total so far of £2225.64 and particular thanks must go to Hayden (IIJC), Kitty (ISG) and IIJH for their sterling efforts.

The fundraising is set to continue with a raffle for a Christian Louboutin Barbie. Christian Louboutin has collaborated with Barbie to create a limited edition 'cat burglar' doll. Dressed in a black catsuit and Differa sandals, she comes with a collection of four pairs of red-soled Louboutins, each with their own shoe box and bag. The doll is worth £100 and was kindly donated by 'The Times'. Tickets are on sale every lunchtime in the Main Corridor for £2 each. So far over £200 has been raised, but the College very much hopes to increase this amount before the prize draw in Prayers the week after half-term.
