National Poetry Week

It was a great honour for Queen's College to welcome inspirational poet and teacher Daljit Nagra during National Poetry Week. His poem 'Look We Have Coming to Dover!' won the Forward Prize for Best Individual Poem following its publication in 'Poetry Review'. This led to his first full-length collection, with the same title, being published by Faber and Faber in 2007. Girls studying A-level English packed the Senior Library to hear Mr Nagra speak and read some of his poems. His distinctive voice will be with them for some time, and will change the way in which they read and understand the poetry.
