Trip to the Foundling Museum

Members of Year 8 at Queen's College recently enjoyed a trip to the Foundling Museum with their English teacher, Mrs Azis. Girls in 2WA report:

It's great going to school in Harley Street because we get the chance to take advantage of so many central London attractions. Recently for example we had an excellent lunchtime English trip to the Foundling Museum in Russell Square which involved role-play and improvisations as well as a guided tour of the displays. It has helped in our study of 'The Coram Boy' which is Jamila Gavin's Whitbread Award winning novel, recently transformed into a play (which we have also seen). The 19th century philanthropist Thomas Coram worked hard to achieve his aim of opening a hospital for London's poorest children and his legacy and message are now perpetuated in the Foundling Museum.
