More on Gertrude Bell
During her time in Iraq, Gertrude Bell came to know Sir Sassoon Eskell who went on to become the country's first Finance Minister. He came from a prominent Jewish family and was the brother of the great-great-grandmother of a current Queen's student, Natalie (1G) - so this makes for another interesting association with the College.
