Enterprise & Partnerships

Throughout their time at Queen’s, students are fully prepared to make choices about their future path and educated about how careers are already evolving and likely to change further over the next decade and beyond. An important part of this is the integration of AI within the workplace – our students have taken part in several workshops this year, relating to this. We have also developed links with businesses in the local area who are well-placed to offer guidance and work placements to our students.

Our programme includes the following initiatives:

The School

  • All students across the College are given access to the U Explore Start Careers platform Start – Careers Information (startprofile.com)
  • In Class 3, students are introduced to Enterprise & Careers ‘Foundations and Your Future’. C3 are a key part of our Girls Human Rights Hub and take part in an annual careers workshop as well as attending whole school events such as the biennial Careers Fair.
  • Class 2 students take part in the Tycoon Enterprise Programme, within their Thrive lessons Tycoon.   Pupils continue their understanding of Enterprise & Careers through ‘Introduction to Skills and Careers of the Future’ which is taught using the Start Careers platform.
  • All Class 1 pupils take part in an Experience Haus workshop, developing crosscurricular design and thinking skills, applying this to a ‘real-world’ scenario before presenting their ideas - RealWorld Design Training Courses in London and Online | Experience Haus.  Pupils cover the ‘Application of Skills and Future Choices’ within PSHE.

The Junior College

  • All students across the College are given access to the U Explore Start Careers platform Start – Careers Information (startprofile.com)
  • I Juniors focus on ‘Personal Development and Preparing for the Future’ in PSHE. They are also a key part of the Southwark Schools’ Learning Partnership (SSLP) Ambassador Programme and are invited to take in IPA’s Advertising Unlocked Day.
  • During their final GCSE year, II Juniors cover ‘Post16 Choices and the Reality of the Job Market’ in PSHE lessons.
  •  II Junior students are given free access to the Morrisby Online Test and this also includes a oneto-one interview with a Morrisby advisor - Careers Advice & Guidance Online Platform Morrisby

The Senior College

  • All students across the College are given access to the U Explore Start Careers platform Start – Careers Information (startprofile.com)
  • I Senior students look at ‘Post18 options and Personal Development and Growth’, to prepare them for applying to university and other pathways as well as experiencing workbased environments. They are given free access to MyUniChoices followed by individual interviews and complete an ‘Introduction to Professional Skills’ course prior to starting their weekly work experience placements. They also have the opportunity to take part in Young Enterprise.
  • In their final year at Queen’s, II Seniors learn more about interview skills and finding the right job, preparing them for university and future employability.
