A-level Destinations

Queen’s leavers consistently progress to leading universities in the UK and internationally, reflecting their academic success and diverse ambitions.

  • 75% of pupils progressed to Russell Group universities between 2018 and 2025.
  • 22% of pupils progressed to Golden Triangle universities (Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial, LSE, UCL and King's) between 2018 and 2025.
  • The most common university destinations between 2018 and 2025 were Edinburgh, Bristol and UCL.
  • Russell Group destinations accounted for 89% of the 2025 cohort, the highest proportion recorded in the dataset. Students also accepted places at top international universities, including Barnard, NYU and Vanderbilt in the USA.

Across recent years, Queen’s graduates have gone on to study a wide range of subjects, from Engineering, Medicine and Computer Science to Law, Politics, History and the Creative Arts.
