Welcome from the Director of Senior College
Senior College is how we refer to Sixth Form at Queen's. It is an exciting step towards independence, offering the freedom, responsibility and support that help every student achieve their very best. With dedicated study periods, the flexibility to leave school at lunchtime, and the opportunity to wear their own clothes rather than a uniform, our Sixth Formers enjoy a learning environment that reflects the transition to university and beyond.
Our Sixth Form combines this increased independence with the reassurance of a close-knit community. Our year groups are large enough to offer an exceptional choice of A-level subjects, a vibrant social life and lasting friendships, yet small enough for every student to be known as an individual. Strong relationships between pupils and staff mean that each student benefits from expert academic guidance, personalised support and thoughtful advice as they make decisions about their future. We take the time to understand every student's aspirations, helping them make the most of every opportunity and preparing them with confidence for life beyond Queen's.
Our ambitious and enriching programme typically includes three A-levels alongside a choice of enrichment opportunities such as the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), Young Enterprise and MUN. All take part in the Queen's Diploma, weekly volunteering or work experience, and physical education. Beyond the classroom, students are encouraged to explore their interests, establish and lead societies, mentor younger pupils and make the most of London's unrivalled cultural, academic and professional opportunities. With world-class museums, theatres, concert halls, libraries and universities on our doorstep, learning extends far beyond the classroom.
We are incredibly proud of all that our Senior College leavers achieve. Our students progress to an impressive range of destinations, including Oxbridge and leading Russell Group universities and an increasing number of prestigious universities in the United States. Others pursue specialist pathways in the creative arts at renowned institutions such as Central Saint Martins and the Royal College of Music. Whatever their ambitions, our students leave Queen's as confident, capable young women, equipped with the knowledge, independence and self-belief to shape successful and fulfilling futures.
