Charity fundraising, volunteering and working with the local community are all an integral part of life here at Queen’s.

From the moment pupils arrive in Year 7, they are encouraged to fundraise individually or as part of a team for each House’s chosen charity. House fundraising activities are led by the pupils and range from bake sales to exciting sponsored activities, both in and out of school.

In addition, both our Sixth Formers and the QCPA choose two charities to benefit from their extensive fundraising each year.

In terms of giving back to our local community, Queen’s Sixth Formers volunteer every Wednesday afternoon at local charities and schools.

Local Primary Schools

We are proud of our strong and mutually beneficial relationship with local state schools, including St Vincent’s Primary school, where several of our Sixth Formers volunteer. Pupils from St Vincent’s also regularly visit Queen’s to use our facilities, to participate in various subject masterclasses, our Primary Maths Challenge and for other special events.

Sarah Bonnell School

Queen’s has a close partnership with Sarah Bonnell School, an all girls’ comprehensive school in one of the most deprived parts of East London. Every year we offer a few fully-funded 100% bursary places for our Sixth Form to pupils from Sarah Bonnell School. We also enjoy hosting pupils from Sarah Bonnell for various workshops and masterclasses throughout the year, as well as teachers from the two schools sharing best practice. Our Principal, Richard Tillett, is also a governor at Sarah Bonnell School.

Southwark Schools Learning Partnership

Queen’s is a proud member of the Southwark Schools Learning Partnership, www.sslp.education, which brings together 16 state and independent schools and provides enrichment opportunities for all pupils and further support for teachers. We regularly host events here at the College for staff and pupils at other SSLP schools, including our popular Stockmarket Challenge, as well as fully participating in the “Thinking About” lecture series featuring various expert speakers.

Girls Human Rights Hub

We are honoured to work closely with the Girls Human Rights Hub, founded by Sultana Tafadar KC (Kings Counsel) and her daughter, a current pupil at QCL. The Hub is dedicated to advancing and protecting the rights of girls worldwide through advocacy, education and public engagement.

This partnership reflects our shared belief that education should empower young women not only with knowledge, but with the confidence and moral clarity to use their voices thoughtfully and responsibly. Through our connection with the Hub, pupils gain insight into how legal expertise and principled leadership can drive meaningful change.

We are proud to have signed the Hub’s Global Pledge, publicly affirming our commitment to supporting girls’ rights around the world. By endorsing the campaign and displaying the pledge within school, we join a growing international community building visible, collective commitment to equality and justice for girls.
